A rainbow arches over The Diamond as fans wait out a short rain delay.Photographers' notes: Waiting out a rain delay at The Diamond, the sun broke through and provided a spectacular view. It's unusual to see both ends of a rainbow, especially framed so nicely. I had to run out to the Batmobile in the parking lot to retrieve a wide angle lens as I carried only long lenses for game action.

New York Giants and Cleveland play at Mooers Field, Norfolk and Roseneath Streets, in Richmond. April 11, 1946. Eddie Mooers bought the Colts in 1932. He sold the property on Mayo Island and moved the team in 1942 to Mooers Field at Norfolk and Roseneath streets. Richmond was a member of the Class B Piedmont League from 1933 through 1953. At that time, Baltimore moved out of the International League and joined the American League. Mooers was offered a chance to have an IL team in Richmond, but an agreement on the use of his ballpark was never reached. Mooers gave up his baseball territorial rights and turned Mooers Field into an auto racing track. It was torn down in 1958.
