Visitors to Maymont stop to view the falls from a walking bridge near the Japanese garden. Maymont is one of the attractions for locals, as well as visitors making day trips to Richmond.

Japanese Ambassador to the United States Ichiro Fujisaki gives William Nixon and Danielle Reese, both 22, bracelets commemorating Japan's 100 year relationship with the United States during his tour of Maymont's Japanese garden.  After hearing that William had just proposed to Danielle on the bridge in the Japanese garden, he stopped to congratulate them.  He was at Maymont to help celebrate its 100th anniversary Tuesday, March 13, 2012.  Danielle was on the phone giving her mother the news of her engagement.
